Pokémon Go looks set to add Gen 8's Dynamax mechanic

Pokémon Go has dropped a gigantic hint it will add Gen 8’s game-changing Dynamax mechanic in the not-too-distant future.

The tease, which takes centre stage in the game’s new 8th Anniversary artwork, shows a Dynamaxed Wartortle alongside the eight generation’s trio of Starter Pokémon: Grooky, Scorbunny and Sobble.

Last month, Pokémon Go director Michael Steranka suggested to Eurogamer that a long-awaited release of the franchise’s eighth generation would come with a focus on “what makes those Pokémon special”.

2K is working on an unannounced remake.
That’s according to the now-deleted LinkedIn page (via MP1st) of a motion capture animator who has been working at 2K for the last two and a half years.
Among the games you’d expect to see on the resume of a developer working at 2K Games – 2K25 WWE, NBA 2K25, that upcoming Mafia game, and the highly-anticipated new BioShock game, to name but a few – there are also references to two unannounced games (one is a sports title) and an “unannounced upcoming remake”.

Starfield developer says Bethesda still focused on fan concerns, despite believing its "the best game we've ever made"

Starfield design director Emil Pagliarulo has taken to social media to assure fans that Bethesda is addressing community concerns, in the wake of his comments in a recent interview that some took to suggest the company was satisfied with the game’s Shattered Space expansion.
Shattered Space launched last week to a lukewarm reception from fans and critics alike. Eurogamer’s Shattered Space review described it as “one of Starfield’s most enjoyable storylines to date” but that the experience “once again struggles to offer any real consequences”.
Pagliarulo received ire from Starfield’s community for his responses in a recent Games Radar interview in which he described Starfield as “in a lot of ways, the best game we’ve ever made”, despite its poor critical reception…

Resident Evil 2 Remake heading to iPhone and Mac in December

Resident Evil 2 Remake will scuttle on to iPhone and Mac on 31st December.
The game will be compatible with iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 16, as well as all silicon-powered iPads and Macs. The release follows the likes of Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Village on mobile, though sales for these have reportedly been very low.

Timon and Pumbaa make their Disney Dreamlight Valley debut next week

We already knew they were coming thanks to Gameloft’s most recent roadmap, but Timon and Pumbaa’s officially make their Disney Dreamlight Valley debut next Wednesday, 9th October.

The Lion King favourites arrive as part of Disney Dreamlight Valley’s free Jungle Getaway Update, which has now been detailed in Gameloft’s latest developer video. Timon and Pumbaa will, for instance, initially be encountered in the overhauled Lion King Realm, first introduced when Simba and Nala joined the village life sim last April.

This time around, the Lion King Realm is explorable in the daytime, with players joining Timon and Pumbaa on a “relaxing jungle retreat” where they’ll “learn valuable lessons in the art forms of rest and relaxation.” Once the adventure is complete, Ti…

Super Mario Bros. Movie 2's new characters will include "old favourites" and "really deep cuts"

Super Mario Bros. Movie 2 will apparently be delving deep into the series’ mythology, with one of its returning cast members recently teasing an “intriguing” setting, plus characters including “old favourites” and “really deep cuts” – and if that doesn’t include Birdo, I will riot.

Super Mario Bros. Movie 2 – the sequel to last year’s hugely successful (and shamefully Birdo-free) animated cinematic hit – is still some way from its planned 2026 release, but that hasn’t stopped Toad voice actor Keegan-Michael Key from teasing some of what’s to come.

“One thing I can say about the second movie is that it’s a little broader in scope, and where it takes place is very intriguing lore and the Mario world,” Key told Men’s Journal (thanks VGC). “They’re going to find …

Hi-Fi Rush 2 already in development six months when Krafton acquired Tango Gameworks

Tango Gameworks had a six-month old build of a Hi-Fi Rush sequel when the studio was acquired by Krafton back in August.
The studio would also like to bring the game to more platforms and plans for the sequel to have a more open and dynamic environment.
Krafton acquired Tango Gameworks after the studio was closed by Microsoft earlier this year. Not all staff have transferred over as some had already found new jobs, but Krafton estimates Tango will be back up to around 90 to 100 staff by the end of the year.
