"Halo meets Portal" indie hit Splitgate gets sequel next year, now with actual Halo veterans on board

Splitgate developer 1047 Games has today said it will launch the sequel to its surprise hit indie shooter in 2025.

The original Splitgate racked up 22m downloads, and received a positive reception to its mix of fast-paced Halo-esque combat with the ability to traverse portals, Portal style.

Splitgate 2’s pitch is clear. All of the above, but now with a bigger budget and with a much larger roster of veteran development talent – including people who worked on Halo back in the day.

Avowed currently targeting baseline of 30fps on Xbox consoles to make way for "juicier" VFX

Obsidian is targeting 30fps on Xbox consoles for its fantasy RPG, Avowed.
In conversation with the Iron Lords podcast, Obsidian art director Matt Hansen said the studio is “core targeting 30 frames per second, bare minimum” for the upcoming release, adding since “it’s a first-person, single-player game, you don’t necessarily need that 60 frames”.
Explaining further, Hansen said this will allow the Avowed team to “get a lot juicier with VFX and lighting and all this other stuff”.
